Default Brunswick Fanatic BTU from Lane Side Reviews

Today I had to see my PSO because my TZone was cracking all around the outside of my thumb slug and I had to get it replaced.

Totally unknown to me, the wife bought the Fanatic BTU without me knowing it and it just happened to be there! While I never expected to see this for a couple more months, I now have it in my bag!

Make no mistake about it...This is Better Than Urethane!

I drilled it pin up, above the ring finger at 65x4.5x35. This is a very slow response ball that is Better Than Urethane (BTU).

This ball is intended for burned up lanes. When a ball like my Ultimate Nirvana start reacting too strongly, the Fanatic BTU can take over without a bowler having to change anything.

Traditional urethane makes its move in the first 25ft, and also carries the oil to the back end. That back end oil from the urethanes creates a mess for bowlers because the reactions will be ever changing. Urethane balls also expend a ton of energy early leaving corner pins and even the 5-7.

However, the BTU absorbs the oil and doesn't make its move until the hash marks with a very clean, easy move to the pocket and had a ton of energy to take out the corner pins and decreases the chances of splits.

I am also of the opinion, that, this ball will counteract the 2 handed bowlers that create that "Belmo Effect", and will make them adjust.

This ball can also take some surface and polish to go longer, which will be great for short, sport & wet/dry conditions because it won't over react.

I used it today on a THS that had wet/dry issues where my Ultimate Nirvana had to be played near the gutter and it still went Brooklyn. I immediately went to the BTU and had zero issues with playing 10 & 15.

THS's here in Vegas vary from house to house length wise, and I'll be playing at the Orleans and Texas Station this winter, and we'll see how it is once my UN becomes too much at those 2.
