Well done on going 9/9 on 10-pins. I'm jealous.
And if you can make that "final tweak" to carry that 10-pin...you're golden.

Saturday Milwaukee area USBC Senior/Non-Senior tournament. Worst. Showing. Ever....
193/163/204 = 560. Was literally just not prepared for the volume of oil they put down. Pretty sure the shot was also near 45'. Throwing a Phaze II dead straight over 8 did not always make it to the pocket, which helped if you missed left a little, but hoowey, if you missed right, it was not coming back. Left at least 4 washouts (stopped counting), and went right of 2 of the 3 10-pins I left (note that number). I've bowled worse in tourneys, but I don't remember when. High note? This house has a Monday 3-man scratch league, and from the liveliness of the pin action we saw, we're thinking this could be a new home next year. Hope tonight is better.

That was the one thing I really hated about tournaments...I'd get my hopes up and sometimes just it ends up a disaster.
Mondays scores. Two steps back, one step forward.
169/234/200 = 603. Started in practice with the Venom, and it looked great. By the time we hit the 3rd frame, both my partners and myself had switched to pearls (mine the AI). Struggled with that until something jogged in my head to do exactly what i did Saturday, and move right. Boom. 9 strikes in game 2, with a 5 bagger to end it. Cannot remember the last time I threw that many consecutive. Did have a 6-7-10 in the middle (damn near made). Last game was clean. I'm hoping I'm on to something here, but this house has dashed my hopes before. Left 7 10-pins again (made all). Average drops back 1 to 202.

Dang. On the bright side, you're getting a lot of single-pin practice in.
I just have this feeling that something small...a little move right or a slight change in where you're looking vertically, or a slight forward or backward on the approach and you'll be back in business. Leaving 10-pins (for a righty) means you're "almost perfect". The maddening thing (well, one of the things) about this sport is you can be SO close to success...yet you just don't have any idea what that little change is that you need to make to get over that last hump. Sometimes you get lucky and figure it out, sometimes a teammate makes a suggestion that works, sometimes you have a coach that points you in the right direction...but bowling punishes the bowler even when you're "almost perfect".
Like I said, I just have a feeling you're about to figure it out.
