I only bowl league at one place and it's a higher friction house.

Don't necessarily have any issues with higher friction. I can bowl down and in, or bend it accordingly depending on the friction. It's the week-after-week of ****-poor carry that makes you nuts. 174 10-pins in one season, with a few weeks to go, says it all about this house. I would reckon there's a couple other guys in the league that are close to that number. Most guys in this league bowl in other houses, and all of them to a man will tell you they're 10-15 pins higher in those houses. We're not asking for a cupcake shot, but when there's no reward for a well-hit shot, it grinds on you.

Probably all that, and a whole bunch more. I'll go out on a limb and say the side walls and decks haven't been touched in years. Pin are definitely old. You can hear a few that are cracked. All of that will be the rest of the league's problems going forward.

Monday's scores. Better results working with the same garbage lanes.

205/208/242 = 655. Two opens in game one were the only ones all night (missed 10, and left the 5 on a 2-4-5-7-8). Game 2 was just sorta ho hum. Started 3 with 4 kills, and then left the loudest 9-pin on the planet. Just tried to stay in my head last night and it worked. 2 weeks left. Average stays 207.

I was kinda thinking that as well. For a righty, I expect to leave 10-pins for any number of reasons. But, for 7-pins...for righties...it just seems like leaving a lot of 7-pins has more to do with improper spotting.

Another thing I wonder about is if carry can be affected by "dead pins". Because, right now...we're hitting pins at my center and you can tell how the pins are either broken or cracked or dead.

But, its hard to say for sure...because we're had 2-5 300s...at least 1-2 800s...so obviously some folks are getting that carry??

Last week at Lucky. Of course, on 15-16 again. Same headaches.

190/200/172 = 562. First ball out of the gate left a 4-6-10. So much for 30 clean. Same issues as the week before. Hit the pocket all night long, with nothing to show for it. There was a little wiggle in the transition about mid-game 2, but that moved right back 3 frames later. Nobody on the pair hit a 6. It seemed very fitting that the very last ball I threw in this horrid house left a 10 pin. Left 8 of those (missed 2). For the season, I made 171 out of 188 10-pins left. Season average 207, well off what I'm used to. But somehow they seemed surprised that we're not coming back....

Word is the Monday league is losing at least 3 of the 8 teams. You get what you give....
