Default Thought thumb or tape please?

For those of us who don't use switch grips, turbo grips, etc do you like a tight thumb for larger with tape? I use to like larger holes incase thumb swells, but had a ball drilled tighter and love it. Was always worried about getting stuck in the ball, but now I just had another new slug drilled for a different ball tighter. What was I waiting for?

My thumb swells so I like larger tape. With thumb at its smallest I can have 7-8 pieces of tape. At its largest either 1-0 pieces

Same here my thumb will be one size when starting and another size at
the finish of the league night most of the time. In the summer my thumb
is usually swollen up from the heat so I do not have to use as much tape
as I do in the fall/winter leagues when my thumb changes constantly.

I always had a big thumb hole. I just had a plug put in my ball with a 1/4 back pitch drilled to the proper size and took a little sand paper to the slug and it works fine.

The tighter the better. While I do have Turbo Switch Grips I also use tape when needed. Always have at least one piece in the ball and use Turbo thumb protection tape. My thumb goes down while bowling at least until about the 12th game. I actually use an old Vise IT that i jam my thumb in before warm ups to help get the swelling down faster.

*******Use caution when adding tape to the pad side of the thumb hole. Doing this actually changes the span******

As my thumb shrinks I always have tape in my ball (whether an inte-rchangable or not). I prefer to keep my thumb hole tight as it helps to ease the temptation to "grab" the ball. In my fingers I use vacu-grips to keep the holes snug
Still love the game but had to quit because of my left leg amptation

My fingers/thumb change sizes all the time. Some days I can't keep my wedding ring on. Other days I can't even spin it. I now drill my thumb holes 1/64 oversize and fill with 1" and 3/4" black tape and a half of a piece of grip tape in the front. I want my ball to grip me - thumb on the sides and fingers tight. Relaxed grip means more revs.

Relaxrd grip means more revs, better speed, more accuracy. In bowling gripping is the root of all evil.
