Cool Getting back into bowling after long layoff......

Haven't bowled since May 2015. Long recovery from bladder cancer surgery in August 2015 and left hip replacement in August of 2016. Might be able to make a go of it the end of October. I was on our church league for 28 years before bad luck hit in my late 60s. I missed bowling very much. I am sure that I will have to get some work done on my bowling balls. I hope I can swing it in October. No pun intended. Haven't been on the boards here in a long time because of the two events I went through the last year. I have no idea how I will bowl when I start. Not really concerned.

Great that you've recovered enough to give bowling a shot!

Good to have you back in bowling and on the forum, glad to see you've recovered from both health issues and even better to see your throwing Hammers down the lanes.

    Good Luck and Great Bowling.

Man I just posted after my long layoff, but my challenges are/were nothing compared to what you've faced.

I have no idea how I will bowl when I start. Not really concerned.
That was exactly me last week, and I set a new all time high average...hope you have a very smooth and successful return - to health and bowling

Good luck in getting back into the game! Take it slow. Throw a lighter ball and work your way up.

I will probably be using my 14lb urethane Blue Hammer starting out so I can see how my new left hip will handle the activity of making an approach and swinging and releasing my ball down the lane. I am sure that I will baby it a little until I build some confidence in making a somewhat decent approach.

glad you are ok and willing to try it again, I myself stopped for 25 years. Just a back issue to start and then just never went back. Came back 5 months ago. the approach was my enemy. Keep us filled in on progress.
