Much better night on the wood lanes last Thursday.

Friday night league on synthetic ended a week ago, so this last week was 9-pin no tap sweeper. We won the league, and I ended up with a 214 average. Ended up the first half of the Thursday league on wood with a 191 average. I continue to struggle.

First set of games with my new Storm Optimus Solid which the local alley replaced for my Roto Grip Menace, which was absolutely destroyed. I had NO practice with this ball.

Thursday night on wood:

Bowled great the first game, except for a horrible ball in the 10th, leading to a whiffed washout. Solid 2nd game with a whiff on the 6-10 in the 1st frame. The 3rd game felt like a 9-pin no tap night. I left a pocket 5, 2 10 pins and 2 9 pins. The good news is that a new owner closed on the purchased over the holidays and will start replacing the 30+ year old wood lanes with synthetic in February.

If I could have picked up the 10 pin like I did on Thursday night, it would have been a great series. I had 5 opens, 4 of which were 10's. The other was a 4-6-7. Should, coulda, woulda.

Terrible results last week.

Never really felt comfortable on the lanes, leading to so-so scoring. League average - 192

On top of the fact that it was horribly humid that night, leading to a failure to never really get out of the ball cleanly, only ONE of the lanes broke down really hard and really quickly. I'm talking a 5 board breakdown difference. League average - 209

Pretty solid night with the Storm Optimus Solid. Only open in game 1 was a 4-6-10. Picked up the bucket in frame 1 and a 10 in frame 2. Left 3 10's and a buried 7, then opened with a 9-10 in the 10th. Left a nasty 8-10 in the 3rd game and another split in 11th frame. Average on Thursdays 193.

Tonight on the wood lanes. New ownership is starting to make some much needed changes to this badly aging house. New flooring and seating installed in the last week, and the wood lanes will start to be replaced with synthetic within the next week. Tonight's results:

Overall good night again with the Storm Optimus Solid. Naturally, just as I'm starting to figure this place out, they're going to start upgrading the bowling surface. I can't wait until they upgrade the HVAC, because I reallly struggle with humidity. I had a couple of bad balls tonight due to humidity causing me to not get a good ball release.

Wow. Other than the 300, it wasn't a great night. Horrible spare shooting. I got very lucky on the 300, as the 12th was VERY light. That's my 4th 300, so naturally ecstatic. New average 206.
