I tend to experiment a little for anticipated tournament conditions that don't work out. A 1 ball a year house shot guy really needs to consult with someone that knows their game and what they are trying to do on their conditions. I really hate seeing someone that averages a lot less than capable of because he is being shut out by a bad ball reaction and doesn't even realize it. Pre resin you knew where you were at compared to everyone else because the equipment was so much closer performance wise.
You mean it might be my wrong ball choices is the reason why I leave so many ten pins?

I came back in March 2016 after 25 years, the Track Heat was recommended to me. Since the ball I was using was 20 years old I said wow what a ball. I since won a Storm phaze from here, great looking ball but I find it hard to see how it's rolling with all them cotton candy colors. I start with the phaze every session and end up going back to my Track. Not due to the color but the Phaze at 11-12 mph just hits high after a game or so. I don't yet see the reason for many balls. I am content with 2. Although I could use a 10 pin ball.. I mean honestly why do you need 6, 8 or 10 balls? Not saying you don't but why? How can you be consistent throwing different balls all the time...remember I am ol skool!

    edit....

I just read post #26 and kind of understand a bit more....

Lol Louvit. I used to wonder the same thing. Then I started bowling in multiple houses so I needed a few more. Then I started bowing on sport shot tournaments with my daughter and I really understood why some bowlers have so many balls. If your a single house bowler and they put down a reasonably consistent shot you can get by ok with 1 or 2. When you start bowling in different houses with different patterns and in my case switching from synthetics to wood and back you need a couple more. You really really can see the differences in balls when you start consistently throwing sport shots. I never understood the differences in drillings until I started watching and participating in sport condition bowling.

I guess I can see that, but since my house is 5 minutes from MY house I guess I'll be a one house man from now on. I watch the oil machine go up and down right before my league and my ball still flies the first frame...lol.. Maybe the oil machine is just for show..... 25+ years ago I shot action in many houses and I brought my one ball and cranked it no matter what.. dam shi!! has changed...lol...Even in my one house I need 2 balls...I would have one ball most likely if I didn't win the Phaze from here after I bought the track

I'm bowling one house on a consistent house shot. I have two balls that are fairly similar (Both Radical Ridiculous: one symmetrical one asymmetrical) and I find it helps to have an option to get the desired angle as the shot breaks down. I first bought just the symmetrical ball over the summer and struggled early in the night. As the shot broke down, the desired line came to the ball. When I added the asym. ball towards the end of summer, it was very clear the asym. gave a great look on fresh oil and the sym. gave a great look once the shot broke down. Truth is, both balls would work all night and I'd be able to score well with either, but I found a way to do better switching between the two based on what the lanes were giving me.

Now if I go bowl a sport league or even a different house, I could be in trouble. That's when I would build on my arsenal.

A few I keep for experimenting with different pitches and things like that. A lot I have donated to the youth leagues. With 4 bowlers in the house we have a lot of balls. Between all of us I really don't want to add up the number. We have 14 being actively used and a shelf full at the house.

I currently have about 10 balls laying around my house. Most of the time, the unused balls are either given away or they crack, so they get thrown away.
Average: 190, High Game: 285, High Series 718
In the bag: Radical More Cash, Track Paradox Pearl, Track Tundra, Storm Super Natural
