I'll take the series. It's easier to work on the spares/misses for the next time than to have the low scores.

At the end of the day I would always take the higher series in a competitive setting, but it'd be far more frustrating than the lower clean series. With the 600 series you start looking at what could've been really quick, if you make half the spares you miss that 600 might be 660. With the clean 540 I'm more relieved my spare game saved me from what could've been a terrible night.

I'm going through it a bit right now, my strike % in league is higher than my spare %. It's frustrating to think what could be, but at the same time I'll take the better scores while I work on the spare game.

I bowl in a (scratch) league with weekly pots and brackets....

    so for money - a messy 600

fun league or other - clean series

personally, it's hard cause 600 isn't what it used to be

I'd rather have high series. My last 6 series were as follows:

646 with 4 opens (no splits)
726 with 3 opens (no splits)
744 with 2 opens (both splits)
    596 with 4 opens (1 split)
622 with 3 opens (no splits)
    654 with 5 opens (2 splits)

In fact, I checked my Pin Pal app for the last 2 years, and there has not been a clean night. If I worked on my spare shooting, I'd be dangerous!

I'll take a higher series. This season I've ranged between 2 and 6 opens per series. Not sure if I've ever had a clean series, it would be cool, but scoring is scoring.

Usually a clean series would mean a better scoring series but that wasn't the question. I would personally prefer a clean series but I'm sure for the team I would have to take the higher score.
