Default Adding the Vandal Smash today!

Last Saturday at the So. NV USBC HOF Banquet I won a Brunswick Nirvana. But, because it's not very versatile I decided I wanted to trade it for the DV8 Vandal Smash. So I called my PSO and he jumped on the trade. He's also throwing in the drilling and the inserts as well.

The Smash is considered the Any Bowler, Any Time, Any Place ball because of it's versatility. It can also be used as a benchmark ball.

I have the original Vandal and I still love this ball because it's is very clean from front to back. Doesn't over read the friction and is very smooth to the pocket. BUT, if you get too far outside with it, odds are you're not getting back to the pocket and even of you do there's more ugliness than good stuff. It also doesn't like too much oil, and it acts as if as it's allergic to the oil.

The Smash has the same core as the original, but a brand new cover stock, and is for med-heavy oil, is very versatile and about 5 boards stronger with a little more length.

It is also just as smooth from front to back as the original, but has a lot more forgiveness and is stronger to the pocket with great pin action.

I'm going to drill this one pin up over ring at 65x4.5x35

So where will this fit in my bag? Once things get too squirrely for the Ultimate Nirvana, this can come right in and I can take the same track as the UN without losing anything.

OK. 2 games of practice with it, and this ball is almost as good as the Ultimate Nirvana. I played a few different lines today to see what it could do, and it did not disappoint.

First, I went straight up the 10 as I would with all of the others I have, and on this particular THS (40ft) it gives me a better Brooklyn hit than the UN. The UN tends to get too far from the head pin on that side, where the Vandal gives me a very solid hit.

Next, I went up the 15 directly into the oil and kept a sweet line to the pocket just as the UN will do. It also gave me the same reaction when I went 15 to 10, straight up the 7 or 8 board, and up the 5.

When I compare it to the original Vandal on these same lines, the Smash had a lot more energy and forgiveness from the 7/8 out to the 3 board without the mess the original can leave.

The Vandal Smash is a great ball and is the perfect compliment to the Ultimate Nirvana, especially when the UN becomes too strong.

What lanes did you bowl at? Vegas has a WIDE variety of lane conditions. I bowl at Gold Coast and Red Rock. WOW what a difference.

I was at Strike Zone for the Smash.

I'm at the Orleans on Monday's, and Texas Station on Wednesday's.

I did Gold Coast last winter.
