I would love to try one of these balls. That would give me a total of one good ball in my bag.
When I talk to the PSO's here in Vegas, this is the one ball that is still flying off the shelves. Even my own PSO can't keep enough in stock and is ordering them just about every day.
When I was watching the Fall Classic at South Point, the Brunswick/DV8 bowlers were doing much better with the BTU. Some of them were drilled just before they bowled.

Any ball is a treat.
I have the perfect lanes/alley for throwing this ball down the lanes. It looks awesome with late hook and grey matte color. I for the win.

Is the btu a spare ball or a strike ball for drier lane conditions?
You could use it for both, but when used for a spare ball, the intention is for the ball to go straight.
Price wise, you're better off getting a cheap price ball for spare shots, and only use an expensive price ball for strikes.
When thrown at spares, the ball is more likely to receive damage due to rougher or sharper objects in or near the gutters compared to smooth lane surface down the middle.
I use a Motiv Rebel Tank for my spare ball, and it has saved me several times when I've walked into a house for open bowling, and they haven't oiled since the embargo. Plus it's fun sometimes to see how well you can do with it. Mike is right, though. A lot more of a hit on the wallet.

This ball would be great on my house's overly dry lanes!
I bowled with a senior bowler this morning who had the Fanatic BTU. I was surprised with the flare she had and the backend turn on a fresh pattern. Still on my want list!
