Remember Congress is the branch in importance according to the founding fathers, not the executive.

Have they come up with the final tally for MI yet? Last I saw they were still counting.

Yes Trump won. You don't remember that George Wallace won the 1968 dem. primary. We have our share of red necks.

Yes, all people that voted for trump are racist segregationists. Or maybe it was a lot of blue collar workers that don't have factory jobs like the one you retired from. There is plenty of blame to go around in both parties for the destruction of manufacturing jobs. Detroit has a population of around 675,000 compared to 1,800,000 in 1950. You don't have to look any further than the very area you live and worked in to realize why the man was elected. Hopefully he can follow through on job creation that has so obviously not taken place for a while now.

Manufacturing jobs were lost to AUTOMATION.
The loss in Detriots population were White people moving to the suburbs. Unlike many cities Detroits borders were frozen and they could not expand.

So all the manufacturing jobs shipped out of the country are automated as well? Plus all the secondary jobs lost as well. Give me a break LOOK AT YOUR TOWN.

In 1964 Wallace ran as a Democrat, but Johnson ultimately was the Democrats candidate defeating Goldwater for the Republicans.

In 1968 Wallace ran as an independent, against Humphrey as a Democrat, and Nixon as a Republican with Nixon winning.

Wallace won Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

Since Wallace was running as a segregationist, you can decide for yourself if blue was the color to best represent what the south was voting for.
