My issue is that I sometimes get bound and determined that I will make the ball work. I just bowled the State tournament this last weekend. Used my Code Black on the Bourbon Street pattern at the Team house and shot ok, a 608, so about 4 pins below my average. Went to the Doubles/Singles house and started with the same ball, but I could tell early on that it wasn't working. Then I got stubborn and didn't make a ball change until the start of the third game. Shot 480 for Doubles because I was sure I could make that Code Black work, but it wasn't happening. Switched to my Crux Pearl for game three and the score jumped right up. Shot 624 for Singles. I wasted Doubles because I was too hard headed to make the ball change that intellectually I knew I had to make. Try as I might, I just can't fix stupid. Especially when it's me being stupid.
