Agreed Tony! If you have even a fairly consistent physical game then all you focus on is hitting that target and nothing else!

Natural ability is what you trained your body to do. You think when you practice and allow or trust your abilities when scoring is involved. When someone is in the "zone" they don't think what they are doing they just do it.

In martial arts it's called "Mushin", it's a state where the mind is not fixed or occupied by thought or emotion and thus open to everything.

My issue is that I sometimes get bound and determined that I will make the ball work. I just bowled the State tournament this last weekend. Used my Code Black on the Bourbon Street pattern at the Team house and shot ok, a 608, so about 4 pins below my average. Went to the Doubles/Singles house and started with the same ball, but I could tell early on that it wasn't working. Then I got stubborn and didn't make a ball change until the start of the third game. Shot 480 for Doubles because I was sure I could make that Code Black work, but it wasn't happening. Switched to my Crux Pearl for game three and the score jumped right up. Shot 624 for Singles. I wasted Doubles because I was too hard headed to make the ball change that intellectually I knew I had to make. Try as I might, I just can't fix stupid. Especially when it's me being stupid.
