    Default Ball sanding question

My go to ball since starting back is a Rocket Ship and to me has a bit more hook than I'm used to
I am a stroker and don't know my rev rate or ball speed other than the displayed lane speed (15to17mph) which I'm told is not that accurate, if I polish my rocket ship with a 4000 abralon, will it skid more and hook later.?
It works how I like it too when the oil is heavy and drug out towards the end of league play
    It's drilled 4x4x2 and has a factory 3000grit polish,
    Thanks for you input

4x4x2 is a high flaring and strong layout. If it's hooking too early as it is, you can go 4K then polish it back.

Just a side note, if you use 4000 abralon on it, it's not polishing - Like Jax said you'd be finishing it at 4000 grit, THEN polishing after.

The Rocket Ship has a unique OOB finish. It is actually polished, but before the final step. These are Storm's surface instructions:

Resurfacing to a 3000-grit Sheen Factory Finish

Resurface to the original factory finish using a ball spinner.

    1. 500-grit Abralon® - Sand for 30 seconds on all four sides with firm pressure.
    2. 1000-grit Abralon® - Sand for 20 seconds on all four sides with light pressure.
    3. 2000-grit Abralon® - Sand for 20 seconds on all four sides with light pressure.
    4. 4000-grit Abralon® - Sand for 20 seconds on all four sides with light pressure.
    5. Storm Step TwoTM - Polish lightly for 15 seconds each side.
    6. 3000-grit Abralon® - Sand for 5 seconds on all four sides with light pressure.

Storm recommends using the suggested cleaner/polish daily. Storm also recommends touching up the surface with only the final step every 20 games and resurfacing completely every 30-50 games.

Tex going straight 4K would make the ball hook earlier and most likely roll out sooner. If you like how it plays currently early on. I'd suggest looking at a second ball rather than trying to resurface that one. Don't fix what isn't broken

Thanks, planning on leaving the rocket ship alone and getting a different ball till I improve

Storm has balls to fill that gap, asking your PSO for recommendation will help in this process.
