Thread: Ball polish

I like Snake Oil after years of using the other brands. Before snake oil, I bowled at another house (closed down now) over a decade ago and I loved Beans Secret Sauce. Lane #1 bought the rights to it and I haven't used it since I found out about snake oil the year it came out. These two polishes gave me what I'm looking for in a polish. Easy to work with, last longer, and the length I needed to store some pop at the end of the pattern.

About your PSO..... does he repair divots by shaving it with a bevel knife too? geez.....

One more shot at my PSO, and I'm going to get a little pissed. The guy is damn good. If he does one thing different then what a couple of people here think is right, there's probably a damn good reason for it. Last I checked, are any of you running your own shop? If you're not, you have no ground to stand on.

One thing I've noticed is when baking a ball, DO NOT use dry heat! Submerge the ball in water before hand. I promise you, absolutely ZERO signs of cracking out. I've seen MANY balls crack due to dry heat baking. Also, as for polish on that Fight, on my Street Fight, to get the length I was looking for in it, I've been using the Storm Xtra Shine. Just a nice light coating about every 30 games or so, or when I notice its not getting the length I want anymore.

I do put a little dish of water in the dehydrator before I start cooking. I also don't let the temp get over 135. I did the 500/3000, and the ball looks like my Fight, which I've always kept in OOB condition.

This thread is about something different than...what I thought it was about.

I was concerned after I named the thread as to how you would see this.....

    Timmy-
Do you leave the little dish of water in there with the ball all thru the heating process?

Yes, I do. We're talking it's like 2 tablespoons of water. I run the tap as hot as I can, otherwise it really wouldn't do much. I'm not terribly sure it does anything in the first place, but I had seen this recommended by some others that built their own ovens.

Ok I may try that. I know the sweatbox used a container of water under the ball. Thought about giving it a try until I saw it was $700+ lol. If I were to spend that much I'd just pay the extra and get a Jayhawk detox
