Default Today I hit a milestone in my life........

I turned 70 today. Happy days are here again, maybe. Oh well! A video game I like to play is the Gran Turismo 4. I can't remember when I bought this game but I play the hell out of it. I have like $136,795,415.00 in prize money. With that kind of money you could imagine the cars I have. I like doing the Endurance races because of the big prize money amounts. Plus you get a car for a prize for winning and you can sell it if you have that car and get more big money. The only thing about the game that you have to figure out is how to set up the car to have a good race. After all of the time I had the game I am still learning things with that.

I am surprised I haven't burned the disk up with so much play time. So I still play it and usually beat butt in the races with the way I set up my cars. I think I will do some racing today for my birthday. I have the time because it is winter and I am retired. YES! Do any of you folks here have this game?

Happy birthday kid. I arrived in Nashville Tennessee exactly 7 months before you. I never thought for a minute I would live this long or I would have taken better care of my self.

I do have Gran Turismo (#3 I think) and used to play it all the time. But has been about 5 years since playing last. Bought a new home and my steering wheel/pedal set-up is stashed away in a box somewhere. I am about 20 years your junior and you have inspired me to play again. Happy Birthday!

wow 70 and playing video games, that's cool. I never got into them. I do have the first Atari game that even came out though. I have no controllers or games for it though...lol happy birthday!

    Happy Birthday!
I have a few video games, not sure if I have that game, used to play a fair amount some time ago. Mostly played sports like basketball, football and baseball, the best all time game for original Nintendo was Tengen RBI baseball. I also had a Sega system and a Playstation, still have some in the basement.
I am a good 15 years behind you but hope to still be bowling when I hit 70 ! Good Luck

I find it odd, that Hammer is old enough to be my father (or my grandfather in a really screwed up situation)...yet I have only played Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2. I had the steering wheel and pedal...but I could never use them. Finally gave them to Goodwill.

Why didn't I play anymore? Maybe I'm waiting till I'm 70. Or, because I never bought a Playstation 2, ended up getting an XBox360 for Christmas...and Gran Turismo is (or at least used to be) specific to Sony/Playstation.

I don't think I could do those endurance races at 70. At 35 I was falling asleep midway through the race. I'd wake up with the controller on the floor, the race was over, and my car was smashed into a wall with the engine running.

I know a great grandfather who has never heard of Grand Turismo or any Turismos. Don't tell anyone though.

There is an option on Playstation 2 where you set up your car and let the game do the work for you. You pick the endurance track you want to race on and practice on that track. While doing this you can change settings on your car to get the fastest laps. If everything is good with your car then you go to the endurance race and let the game run the car for you. So you just sit and watch or go out somewhere to shop, eat or whatever.
