Default Got a couple of goodies today!

Today I picked up a new Brunswick Edge 3 Ball Roller, 4 rolls of VISE NT 50Y (Wes Malott) Tape and the DV8 Pit Bull.

The ball was drilled at 35x3 1/2x35, and the coverstock was changed from 1000 (OOB), to 3000 with polish.

I still get excited about getting new stuff. Heck I got excited about getting my new box of inserts in lol. Also an added bonus that bowlingball.com can send out same day and I'll get it in 2 days from FL to KY.

About the pitbull, did you throw it with the oob first or change it from the word go? If so, why?

    I haven't thrown it at all yet..lol

The Pitbull is a very strong and aggressive ball. The OOB surface (solid 1000) is way too strong for most bowlers, especially on a THS.

As Rob & Scoops pointed out on the Lane Side Reviews video, you're more than likely going to have to change the surface on it.

With that being said, my PSO changed it to 3000 with polish so that it isn't going to be so aggressive, but it's still going to be a monster, especially on heavy oil, which is what it was designed for in the first place.

So if you're going to use this on a THS, you had better make sure you keep it in the oil for as long as you can! lol

Ordered my new Storm Rolling Thunder 4-ball bag today. Sent back the K-Force 4-ball. If you advertise that it'll hold up to size 15 shoes, my 13's better go in without issue. They did not......

Anytime I have to get something, I have to be sure that it is compliant with the PBA rules, otherwise I can't have it in the bowlers area.

My second pair of bowling shoes are KR's and I can't use them.

Good choice Timmy. I think you'll like it.
I took the shoulder strap off mine. Just use the clips. Disconnected the strap on the back (near the handle mechanism) that holds the two bags together. I find that the strap keeps the bags together, but it's not really all that necessary. It's just one more thing to mess with when you're putting the two bags into the truck of a car or something. Great bag nonetheless...

I see. Just curious since 3000P is a long way from 1000S lol.

    It sure is! lol

I used it yesterday on a modified 39ft house pattern, where it has more oil to the outside. I was bowling on the 9 Tap Tour here and it was the 3rd squad where there were already 8 games on the lanes and they were pretty burned up.

Let's remember that I'm low speed & low rev (14 & 250), and the conditions dictated that I stay with this.

During the 10 min of practice I found the ball was working great on 15-10 and even 15-5, so I stayed with it.

The ball read the entire lane darn near perfectly from front to back, and did not over read the friction and it still hit extremely hard. It was like the pins were exploding down there.

This is exactly what I was looking for in a strong pearl, and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what this ball is going to do at the US Open Championships tomorrow and at the PBA 50 Regional I'm doing next month on the Chamelion pattern, and the 10 minutes of practice will certainly dictate if I continue with it.

That's awesome! I love it when a ball does what it is supposed to do lol.
It's all about getting the ball and surface lined up with you as I've learned from trying to make a ball work because that's what I want to throw.

Good luck at the open tomorrow!
