    Default Feels good to win!

Ahh... Hadda' share... Sooooo much fun!

Wife and I played this month's 'Sweetheart Tournament' on the 8th. It was 9-pin no-tap, nothing hard. We won! Couldn't believe it... My wife carries about a 120 average, but she shot a 180 with only a single no-tap strike! She kicked butt! That was her first tournament, and I was really excited she had a good experience. We'll be enjoying free rooms for three days at the Orleans in Vegas. :-) Our good friends were on our pair, and they also bowled really well; they won second place for the stay in Laughlin. They're heavy into jet skis, etc, so they thought it was even better than first place!

Anyway... fast forward to last weekend. Bowled an inter-center tournament with a quickly cobbled-together team of degenerate bowling buddies. Bowled Saturday and bagged our home center, then went up to LA county for the finals. First team we played came at us with 209 pins of handicap. They did their best, but we still ended up taking them out by 100 pins. Moved to semi-final and it got serious... Handicaps were so close (20 pins their favor), we were basically playing a scratch match! Took them by 100 pins, too. Finally, Championship match. Again, 20 pins of handicap in their favor... another close match-up. They were two guys and two gals... The gals had unorthodox technique, but they were really accurate... They posted some good scores! The guys on their team were =real= good... A little intimidating! None the less, we stayed cool, and just treated it like another Sunday of bowling... and we took it! We were up on them by 90 pins by the end of the first game, then I think the psychology got 'em a little. They did put up a helluva fight, though. We took the second game by 10 pins.

That win bought us some tickets for the show in Vegas, and keeps us covered for lineage at the Orleans. Awesome!

This weekend is the Orange County USBC Open... Same team with one substitution (who's a solid player). We hit this one, we'll be three-for-three this season! Feeling good... Expecting to have a nice look!

Was there a "happy ending" for bowling so good?

    Thanks for the congrats, guys!

    Update...

Looks like we hit the county USBC Open, too! Unofficial final standings were posted at the center this week... First place Team, a mix of cash positions in Doubles and Singles, and I took first place in All Events. All of us hit some of the brackets, as well. My Doubles partner took 10th in AE.

    A profitable month of bowling!

The team we bowled with for the team event were great players and absolutely great guys. Their playing ethic and sportsmanship pushed us to be our best, so really have to thank them, too.

Off to Vegas for some R&R!
