I think you will start seeing it more and more as pro bowling continues to be a young man's game. Older vets will open them up on the side, as most will do well I'd think.
I keep hearing about PBA pros who run pro shops. Wonder what the percentage is?

I know some of the women Pros have Pro shops like Diandra Asbaty and
Missy Parkin are two that I can think of off hand.
Yeah a lot of the men Pros are running Pro shops on the side now and I'd
expect a lot more of them will start doing it also.

from my experience, this HOF tour pro legend, he sucks as a PSO.. but he's in the top 20 greatest pba bowler ever and good guy...... you guess who?... lol
