Start A Revolution

The revolution continues in bold fashion with the Motiv United Revolt. This is the first pearl shell (Helix HFP, 5000LSP) to be wrapped around the proven Vanquish core (2.47RG, .056Diff) which brings a fresh look to the lineup (not to mention the vibrant color scheme). Throughout the different shots I have thrown this on I see many similarities in ball motion to the previous Revolts of the line, which is a good thing, while also adding its own unique characteristics to bring diversity to the name. Where I see similarities the most are in the midlane and the pin deck. The Vanquish core provides a strong engine to help the ball read the mids well giving traction even in the fresher/heavier conditions. This traction-motion also provides the ball solid continuation through the pin deck, keeping up with the precedent set by its older brothers. Conversely, where I see the new characteristics take over are in the heads and at the breakpoint. The Helix coverstock allows this ball to glide through the heads easily, something my solid Covert had issues with at times, thereby saving more energy for further down lane. Once at the breakpoint there is a strong, but not snappy, motion made. This quicker transition allows the United to be used from deeper angles compared to the rest of the line. I have found that mine works quite well on the fresh (for added teeth on slightly heavier conditions I have used 1500 for the surface) and allows me to continue well into game two before I switch to a great compliment: the Primal Fear. By comparison, the United allows you to cut through the oil with straighter angles which will then open up the lane for the Fear to bounce off of that track further inside. If you need something to clear the heads yet give strong control in the mids and at the breakpoint for heavier shots, the United Revolt is a solid (for a pearl) option.
