I'm not sure if you use a slug or not, but if you used a slug and was charge $23, that's crazy.
Years ago, I was experimenting with thumb pitches. I had a 1/4 reverse and I went through 5 or 6 slugs with various forward pitches till I went down to 1/8 forward.
I paid $5 per slug. No need to plug this old ball we used. Just reslugged it.
But if you don't use slugs for the thumb, I guess that's okay.

Agreed, $20-$30 to adjust the thumb on a ball you like and get it to throw and roll the way you want is worthwhile. Our local shop talked my little cousin out of redoing the thumb on a ebay find because it would've cost around $50 to do and the ball just wasn't worth it so he's going to look around for another ball for him. I guess sometimes its always best to just go talk to your PSO for awhile.
To get switch grips and an insert or two for $55.

the large slug at 1 3/8 should be enough room to play with, ask your PSO.
I have a 61 size thumb hole, we used the larger slug 1 3/8 and it had plenty of room.
the original slug size is 1 1/4.. I use an it now.. I'm pretty sure your thumb isn't 1 5/16th king kong size, or is it? lol
