    Default Pro Shop Operators...

After this season, it will be my 4th year of bowling. Love every second of it. I bought my first ball from a PSO that a teammate recommended. A new old stock Brunswick Karma. Got it cheap, didn't want to spend much as it was my first time in a league and not sure if I would stick with it. From this PSO I bought a few more and even one online that I had him drill. I also bought a few from another PSO across town. Both of these guy are awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable, don't push anything, ask questions what I want, what I need, watch me bow, etc. both of these guys are across state boarder, maybe 20 minutes away. Recently, within the start of this season, a new PSO moved in to the alley I bowl at most in my home town. He did a ball demo, bought two balls from him and then another ball. This guy pushes A certain line of balls no problem as I liked someof the balls and bought a few. But this guy is a jerk. Doesn't take care of customers, probably won't last to long. I went in to practice some games and he Saw me rolling a ball he sells that I had the first PSO drill and the other balls I had him drill to switch grips. He was irked, "You ditching me?" Text me late at night trying to make me feel bad, " Sorry, I thought I gave you good prices and service." Fact is, when ever he got me a ball, it took him a week to get in if not more and prices were ok. In fact, his price was $50 more than where I got it from. The PSO who I bought it from said when I got my balls changed to switch grips, he said the balls the new guy drilled, the pitches were all different.

For those who use various guys, do the other PSOs treat you like this? I gave the guy a chance, bought three balls off of him. The first guy was the main guy I went to. And will continue to do so. Lesson learned.

I almost have enough of the equipment needed to drill my own equipment. Just don't know if it's worthwhile to spend the $$$ to learn how to layout a ball and do it myself. Tempting though.

I use two different PSO's , I bowl on a regular basis with one and he runs the shop located in the center I bowl at, the other guy actually owns a bowling center and has his own shop now re-located into his center. Both guys do a good job taking care of the customers, they make free adjustments on the balls and offer pretty similar prices.
I've never experienced, or heard of them giving crap to me, or any of the 100's of other bowlers that use their service, plus one of the other PSO's in the area, they all know each other, and for the most part they know most the regular bowlers that frequently buy equipment, because they both bowl in multiple leagues at different centers.

Sounds like your one guy is a jerk and an idiot,

I've flirted with the idea of buying a drill press and drilling my own stuff, I just can't justify the price tag on a press. I refuse to have my local PSO drill anything as it usually ends up the complete opposite of what I asked for. I take all my stuff to Salt Lake/Ogden, UT, and between 2 guys, they do me good. I've got the general idea on how to drill balls for myself

I would have told him off. if you don't need him for anything I would tell him to ditch my number. A pos should never text or call you unless you are friends. I like my guy never pushed anything, In fact he has talked me out of buying equipment that I don't need many times. "Hey work on this and that will take care of what you want to see you don't need this ball" and so I bring him in all the new customers I can.
