Default looking for a step down

My buddy is looking for a med-dry ball something to step down to when it dries out some. He currently has a deadly aim, and a total NV. He just about rips the cover off the ball without even trying and averages between 16 - 16.5 mph. We're in a league where you get a free ball at the end of the season. I was thinking something like the Wreck-em would be a good fit to fill the spot. Does anyone have any thought on the matter?

I'm not familiar with the Total NV don't see many throwing Ebonite here but it looks like a symmetrical step down from the Deadly Aim. The Wrek series of balls from Rotogrip tend to be strong for their price point I worry that it could be close or stronger than the Total NV especially if it's a couple of years old. I might check out the Cherry Vibe from hammer, a hustle or maybe a match up from could be considered. Like I pointed out I'm not familiar with the Total maybe the Total NV is stronger than I think and if so your correct but I know the Wreckem is stronger than many think

The total NV has a RG the same as the cherry vibe but the differential on the vibe is .042 and the NV was .051. now the wreck-em has a higher rg of 2.55 compared to the 2.51 of the NV and the same differential as the vibe. With both the vibe and the wreckem being pearls wouldnt that say they're going to hook the same but the wreckem would be later?

If the covers were the same strength then yes but the cover on the Wreck-em is going to be quite a bit stronger than the cover on the Vibe. The Pumped cover stock on the Wreckem actually list as being stronger than the No Rules Pearl cover it's just a weaker core on the Wreckem. It's one of those strange marketing things ball companies do sometimes. You have to be careful with Roto on their ball ratings it's not uncommon for a HP 2 ball to be stronger than a HP 3 ball with them.

It's the age of the total NV that worries me also if that ball is 2 years old and maintained like most bowlers maintain their equipment it's lost a lot

Yes it is an older ball that i think was given to him, he does not clean it ever. with that being the case you think the vibe is the way to go?

I see that this has the name and the finish, but are there specs about the cover that you can compare apples to apples with another cover?

If it's that old and never cleaned I might look more towards the Hustle (not the pow version) or the matchup even the cherry vibe may be stronger than a 10 yr old total. Thanks Bowl I knew it was older but not that old lol. Really he's looking for a stepdown from the Deadly Aim then the Vibe should be good the total needs replacement.

I can't find my chart for Roto at the moment I know I described where it was correctly as I noticed it when I was looking at the dare devil.
