i would definitely get a new pair! I rolled in SST1's for 10+ years, and while at nationals I picked up a pair of SST5's...a whole new world! My original shoes are still in decent shape, but the stitching was starting to stretchout and the sliding sole wasn't in the greatest shape. I gained some consistency with the new shoes, since they didn't have crap all over them

yeah....but now I'm thinking sensibly about getting shoes with changeable slide soles....figure I'll get more use out of them that way.

So now I'm looking at the Etonic ESL-Lady Pro.
    They're not too tacky...but they'll be practical.

Aaah yes, but there's always a way to make boring shoes tacky/flamboyant if you're willing to put in the time and/or effort to do so.

just buy a pair of white sst 4's or something similar, then break out the tape and paint! Make them yours!!! then you get the best of both worlds!

you could even use that super cool puffy glitter paint

glitter is the herpes of the crafting world...
