New ball, new issues...lol. Bought a new Radical Conspiracy and tonight was my first league night with it. Started out great. I wasn't that consistent but if the ball was near the pocket I got a strike. 7 strikes in game 1 and only 2 were legitimate strike shots. Had a few Brooklyns and a few light hits that carried. Game 2 the transition started rearing it's ugly head and I have never had to deal with this much transition before. I struggled with it but partly due to my stubborness in not changing balls. Part of that is because I am not consistent enough to know whether it was the lanes or me. A few frames into game 3 I switched to my Kingpin and got a little better but looking back now I would have done things differently.

Decent night tonight. Used the new Conspiracy all night. Missed a few stupid spares that I shouldn't have but beat my average all 3 games. The good thing was last week after the 1st game I really struggled with the new Conspiracy. Tonight I was able to adjust to it and actually bowled my best game in game 3. Overall happy with it. We bowled the best team in our league average wise. They were spotting us 75 pins/game. Game 1 we had a guy on our team roll a 279. Game 2 we were all between 188-208 but they had a 268, 236 and 221 but we won by 3. Game 3 we had 226 and 220 but they had 267, 234, 224, and 223. They beat us pretty bad that game but we got 4/7 points tonight.

Well I can look at tonight in 2 ways. 1 being I was disappointed that I struggled. In the end I was pretty close to my average so I guess it's a good thing I thought it was a bad night. I was 5/6 on single pin spares so that was good (missed a 7 pin). The issue tonight was me. Can't blame it on conditions or equipment. I was right on in warmups so started off with the same marks and hit light the first 5 frames. Moved over a little and hit the pocket but then would miss light, miss high, but struggled to hit the pocket. Only had 1 strike going into the 10th frame of game 1 and it was a Brooklyn. Struck out in the 10th with 3 good shots so thought I was on to something. In the end we lost all 3 games (lost game 1 by 5, game 2 by 29 and game 3 by 18). We bowled decent and was only 12 under our average in game 1 but over our average in games 2 and 3. Didn't help that one of their guys bowled a 266, 265, and 237 (has a 219 average) and another guy had a 163, 235 and 234 (has a 200 average).

So another so-so outing. Ultimately I beat my average and we won all 3 games but I still wasn't happy. Strikes were very hard to come by and I was struggling with consistency. Spare shooting was pretty good but did miss a couple easy ones I shouldn't have missed. Game 3 I finally made a move to the 7 board and the ball was hitting like a truck when I got a good release. We won all 3 tonight.
The only reason I say my spare shooting was decent was that I made a few that I normally don't. 2/3 7 pins and made the 1-3-6-7 once and was 1/2 on the 1-3-7.

Pitiful! That about sums it up tonight. Our team was 1st half champs in our division and our opponents were champs in their division. 1st game was very good for both teams. We won by 46 (they were spotting us 70). Their average across the board is 208 ours is 192. Game 1 wasn't bad for me. I had 2 splits but other than that it wasn't bad. Game 2 and 3 were horrible. The problem wasn't the ball or the lanes, just me. Everything was bad. Inconsistent, missed easy spares, just horrible. Kept dropping the ball. We lost games 2 and 3 and total pins. On to next week. The team we played is the owner and the PSO's team. Oh, and we had 3 Conspiracies on our pair...lol

Well tonight started out good and thought i was on to something. Actually I was but I slipped up as the night went on. I knew I had been overdoing it by trying to cup the ball more and open up my shoulders and that led to inconsistency so tonight decided to scrap the shoulder turning and forget about trying harder to cup more. Also tried slowing down and also not bending over as far. Sounds like alot but trying to do all that is what was causing my problems. Started out good. Wasn't bending as far and slowed ball down by about 1-1.5 MPH from last week. Kept shoulders more square and stopped turning my shoulders. Game 1 was great until I opened in the 10th (was clean up till then). Game 2 wasn't as good and started tugging my shots and speed started creeping up. Game 3 got even worse until late when I really focused on it. Opened in the 10th in game 2 also. Spare shooting was dismal at best.

Much better tonight. Went out and practiced yesterday and think that helped. Started out with my usual first arrow target but struggled a little early on. Missed low, missed high, etc. but was covering my spares. Switched to the 10 board and just couldn't strike. Hit the pocket and left a bunch of 7's. Game 2 stayed at the 2nd arrow and tried the Black Widow Gold (had been using the Conspiracy). Got a few more strikes but still not getting some of the carries I should have. Game 3 went back to the Conspiracy and out to the 7 board and that was it. 8 strikes that game. Was pretty good on my spares all night and much better with my 7's (4/5 made).

Thanks! It was my 3rd highest game and 3rd highest series since coming back a year ago. My highs are 256 and 244 and 240 (last night) series are 643, 635 and the 607 (last night). My highest ever was around late 90's early 2000's right before I left bowling and high game ever was 266 and highest series ever was about 660ish (same night as the 266). Pretty confident I'll break that this year but I'm sore today. 4 games Monday and 3 last night. I had upper epicondilitis surgery in 2002 (tennis elbow) which is why I quit bowling then after that started having shoulder issues. Have impingement, bursitis and bone spurs so a little sore today....lol
