Did a little better and think I might have figured something out. I have been having bad balance issues at the line and really hurting my slide knee due to hopping after my release. Several months ago in an attempt to slow my ball speed I moved forward on the approach but this led to shorter steps. Tonight I experimented in warm ups and the first 3 frames and just felt really awkward. 4th frame I moved back behind the dots and took longer steps. My balance was much better.

it might have been the 1-7-8. couldn't remember but yeah it was odd. i came in high on both of those. had a guy next to us leave a 5-7-10...lol

Started off really bad. Last 2 games were much better. Just had no consistency first game. Missed high, missed low. Just off. Couldn't convert any spares and couldn't get strikes. 1st game had 3 strikes and 1 spare. Only had 9 strikes on the night. Hit the pocket pretty good the last 2 games but kept leaving pins. Tried different lines and different balls and still not carrying strikes. First game I kept tugging the ball. Finally fixed that the last 2 games and got better with my spares but still room for improvement.

Finally a decent night. Only my 2nd 600 since I came back 10 months ago. I hit my Kingpin with a 2000 CTD pad last week. Not sure if that is what made the difference but I doubt it because I was hitting my spares too. The first game our whole team was hitting high. I was throwing 1st arrow like usual and kept moving left but still hit high. Ended up moving my feet left 1 board and targeting board 7 or 8 near the end of game 1. Finally started hitting the pocket. My only open in game 1 was a split then missed a 7 pin in game 2. Game 3 was clean.

We are in 2nd place in our division and bowled the 2nd place team in the other division. They are one of the higher average teams and were giving us 54 pins. We lost game 1 by 54, won game 2 by 46 and won game 3 by 31. I had high game on our team in game 1 and 2.

Another sub-par night but we all struggled. Just no carries all night. I was hitting high then moving 1/2 board and hitting light. Tried moving further inside, same thing. Moved even further in, same thing. Tried the other ball, same thing. When I did hit the pocket left at least 1 pin. I didn't count but the whole first game I'd guess our 5 man team had less than 10 strikes. I had 1 strike in game 1 and only 3 in game 2. Game 3 was a little better with 5 but 4 of those were the 9th and 10th frames. On a good note I was pretty good with spares again tonight.
Thigh started hurting early in game 1 and I just couldn't focus.

Repeat of last week except I wasn't as accurate with my spares. Still ended the night better than last week overall due to more strikes but made quite a few errors tonight. Last week I was in the pocket most of the night, just couldn't get the carries. Tonight I missed the pocket too many times. I tugged a few and threw a few too far out that didn't come back. First game wasn't bad and I was kind of surprised my score was as low as it was, although I did have 3 opens that game. Game 2 started with 3 opens but ended with a 191 so nice comeback there. Game 3 started coming in light leaving corner pins the first 3 frames then left a 9. Finally realized it was hitting light consistently so moved 1/2 board left. Hit the pocket better but ball seemed to be dying at the pins so switched to the Black Widow Gold. Took a couple frames to get the spot and then threw a double and blew the 10th for 146.
We bowled the first place team (we were in 2nd 2 games back). We won game 1 by 116, lost game 2 by 49 and won the 3rd by 21 and got total pins so got 5 out of 7 to move into 1st. Oddly the game we lost was my high game...lol (191).

My highlight for the past 3 weeks or so has been my 7 pins. 8/11 (72.7%) the last 3 weeks. Since coming back a year ago I'm 40/96 (41.67%) so a definite improvement. This season I'm 12/36 (33%) so definitely making progress there.

A little better tonight. Struggled finding the pocket in game 1 and finished with a 170 with 2 strikes. Early in game 2 I moved further outside. Much better. Did decent with spares too but did miss a few easy ones I shouldn't have. On a better note we won all 3 games and a teammate got his first league 300. He had one in a practice game before but this is his first in league play.

Well I wasn't supposed to bowl tonight but our sub couldn't make it. He was only going to bowl to get his games in. I was planning to go and practice a few games. Tonight was position round so we bowled the 2nd place team. We were up on them by 6 points so only needed to win one game to clinch 1st. First game we lost by 24 but we won the 2nd game by about 80. 3rd game we sort of used as practice since it really didn't matter if we won or not so we ended up losing by over 200....lol. I didn't get everyones scores and they haven't updated the site yet so not sure what everyone got but I know our highest average bowler was about 70 below his average that game.

Anyway, game 1 I started with the Kingpin and hit the pocket every frame until the 10th but couldn't get strikes. It was the most accurate I have been physically all year but ended with only 4 strikes. I tried moving in to the 2nd arrow but really struggled to hit my mark then. After awhile I started using the Black Widow Gold from the 1st arrow and had a little success but still not carrying strikes. Tried 2nd arrow towards the end of game 3 and started hitting it pretty good with the BWG. Pretty consistent night but missed some easy spares that I shouldn't have. Also worked on my ball speed in game 3. I'm typically about 17.7 MPH at the pins but was able to get down to 14.9 one frame but really struggled to get it that slow and it came all the way across the head pin. Made an adjustment but struggled to keep it under 17 MPH after that. Decided it was more important to me to try to get my average up I went back to my normal speed. I do know that I can slow it down if I have to and think I'll be sitting out next week so might go practice.
