    Default Thumb Savers??

I still cannot get out of my thumb clean no matter what I do. I'm obviously squeezing before my release no matter how hard I try not to. I just can't stop doing it and it's starting to get annoying. I've tried adding tape to try to make myself relax my thumb and I tried removing it all, neither worked. I keep lofting it to the dots (before the arrows) because of it.

My thumb hole already has substantial pitch toward the fingers I don't remember the measurement of how much. Would one of those thumb savers help me get out cleaner? At this point I'm ready to try anything because this is really getting me peeved at myself.

Try some of those drills. Try getting into a delivery position at the foul line and swing the ball with a relaxed hand a few times without letting it go. Then on the third or fourth swing forward just let the ball go. Do it several times. If you're successful allowing the ball to roll rather than you throwing it, move to a one step drill.
Something that might help is to use some Vise HADA tape on the back of your thumb to allow your thumb not to stick to the backside of the thumb hole and slide out easily.
    How's that for starters?

Vise HADA tape on the back of your thumb to allow your thumb not to stick to the backside of the thumb hole and slide out easily.

I use this product and my thumbhole is tight.

So the tape goes on your thumb and not in the hole? I was thinking of getting some of this for the same reason.

Correct, goes on your thumb and not in the hole. Picture for an example. I don't use this exact product.

I use the pre cut strips.

We have that stuff in our display case at work, I can get a pack and give it a shot. Hanging up like I am is making it very difficult to be accurate as I like to be.

Have to agree with the others here HADA tape helps with that. Are you rubbing blisters on the thumb or just can't get a clean release?

Everyone else is covering the taping option so..

If your having to squeeze all the time then you should have your grip checked. (Span, Pitches etc.). Note too much forward pitch can cause you to hang, also if you add forward pitch you should adjust (shorten) span also.

Verbatim from the IBPSIA Fitting Manual:

" It is essential to adjust the span when changing forward or reverse pitch".

    1) For the fingers, the span adjustment is 1/16” for each 3/8” pitch change.
    2) For the thumb, the span adjustment is 1/16” for each 1/4” pitch change.
    3) All adjustments should be made off of a good base grip.

You could be knuckling (Thumb is bent in the hole), that can affect how you clear the hole. Make sure to keep your thumb straight with the pad side flat pressed against the wall of the hole. Make sure you have the proper size and shape hole.

Now if your squeezing just before your release, that's called "Grabbing". What is Grab?

When you are in your stance, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being a feather grip and 10 being a death grip what is your number?

Let's say your grip is a 6 for sake of discussion. Then 6 has to be maintained throughout the swing and release. If 6 turns into 7, 8, 9 or 10 at any point throughout the swing or release - that is grab and will cause problems.
