i got my wife her own ball and 2 private lessons. Then we went and bowled a game and she bowled a zero after 7 frames. She got mad and quit. she needs to be patient and that it takes practice. she doesn't like to lose and i told her you are not going to beat me just try and beat your own score. we haven't gone since but when our girls grow up i'm sure she'll try again.

After 14 straight gutter balls I think I would have quit too. Maybe you should have taken her bowling before spending money on a new ball. Then the coach could have told you to save your money.

Has your wife never bowled before? I'm surprised you couldn't even keep one ball on the lane, what did the coach work on with her?

I watched her take the lessons. She learned a few things and showed improvement. Can't learn everything at once of course. She had only gone maybe once year or less before that in her life and she would just walk up and throw. For some reason after the lessons and we went she was releasing the ball so early it shot off into the gutter quickly.

I'm guessing she was using a house ball? I would recommend getting her own ball before she takes lessons. It's tough to improve if you have a bad fitting ball.

No I thought getting her fitted for a ball would help. It will if she practiced. She needs to find her rhythm
