Jay and boat what kind of machine is measuring your ball speed? We got the new Brunswick sync this summer and I have not seen one person hit 18.5 yet. Personally I think it is slow.

Timing can be a big issue when switching between ball weights. Was practicing today and buddy of mine has a 14lb Kinetic that I gave a try for a few frames. Found I was way early in timing with the ball vs my usual 15 lb'er.

We have the AMF Quantica. Can't say for sure how accurate it is but there are only a few of the 100+ in my league that post higher speeds than me. So while it might not actually be 17.5 MPH, it is about 1-1.5 MPH faster than most in my league. Like I said, I am lower rev. I have a teammate that practically runs to the line and really swings his arm hard but he is a higher rev and he is usually about 15.5-16MPH. If you watched our approaches side by side you would swear his ball would be 5 MPH faster than mine. I think most of his ball energy is spent with the ball spinning more sideways (revving) while mine is more down lane (rolling).

I will have a much better idea of how hard when the leagues start. This was only 6 small tournaments.

My arm swing feels much more relaxed. And the best part is that my wrist isn't screaming at me.
Have you tried using Kinesiology tape to wrap your wrist? It only stretches length wise and you have full control over how tight it is. A life saver for those with bad joints. I'm almost healed from a bad wrist injury, and the K tape allows me to bowl before I'm totally healed. The tape is not cheap, but much better than standard athletic tape. I also use an old school wrist brace over the top of the tape.
