Thread: String Pin Setters

    Default String Pin Setters

There is a bowling center opening in my neighborhood, and they want to use "String Pin Setters."

What do you guys think of these?

I also made a short 4 question yes/no type survey to find out. If you're interested, I'll post the results here as the data comes in.

    Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SY2H9VH

If you know where I can get some other data on this, please let me know.

The string pinsetters subject comes up once in a while in the forums. You use to see them more over in Europe than here, Though they have been showing up more in the US.

Their not certified for USBC leagues and Tournaments, So that's going to limit the number of bowlers you have mainly just to the for fun crowd. Serious bowlers will want to bowl on regulation lanes and pins.

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

Agreed. I wouldn't bowl at one of those.

LOL!! I remember being in Spain and going bowling as a kid and they had these string set pins. Never liked it then, wouldn't like it now.

A minor step up from Wii bowling.

Arsenal consists of mainly 15# Motiv balls, I have several now and they are the bomb! Too many to list and carry. Still have a couple Hammer balls and my AMF RPM Swirl (old reliable) & 25+yr old Linds worth a mention
Currently 535+ Rev Rate @ 19 MPH (This probably needs to be updated, I think I've toned each down a click or two these days. I'm letting the ball do more of the work as I get older.)
