Default got way more revs tonight

So picked up my new Conspiracy tonight and got way more revs but it wasn't all the ball. So here is what changed or I did different.

The PSO installed the inserts flat side up but he did that on my Hammer last week and I tried it first and not much difference so don't think that was it. When I first started with the Conspiracy tonight I wasn't getting huge revs but the lanes were on the drier side (just practice, no league).

    1) normally my hand is almost directly behind the ball so no side revs other than what the ball has due to layout. I had tried turning my hand slightly inside before to get a little more side roll but hadn't been very consistent so tried it again tonight. This added revs for sure.

    2) tried cupping my hand a little but had trouble so not much affect

    3) tried turning my shoulders a little to the outside to open my backswing. I didn't do anything different on my backswing but because my shoulders were opened I was able to get a little more under the ball. This seemed to make a huge rev difference along with #2 above (turning my hand slightly inwards)

    4) my 'normal' line is straight up the 5 board but even there I still got more revs. One of the top guys in our league was there (218 average) and came down to watch. He asked me about throwing it out to the 5 board from inside. I told him that has never worked for me so I tried it. I always line up my left toe so lines it up on the 13.5 board (right foot right next to it so maybe 18ish board). Threw over the 10 board out to about the 5-7 board. Ball bit and came back in breaking at about the 40' mark. The ball came right into the pocket at about 16.5 to 17 MPH and got great carry.

So not sure which of these increased my revs or if it was a combination (guessing it was mainly #3 and #1). I would guess I was about a 300 RPM bowler but tonight I'd say I was closer to 400 by the end of the night. Sounds like alot but it was more than I had ever had before by far. The lanes seemed drier than normal so not sure what affect that would have but guessing drier would give less revs?

Anyway, really liked what I saw tonight with revs and ball reaction. Can't wait to see how it is Tuesday night.

Interesting. Revs can be deceiving when trying to figure out how many you are getting. The difference between 300 and 400 is quite a bit. I think would entail a bit more than some axis tilt and opening your shoulders a bit.

If I were you, I would try and get a more accurate reading on it. It is actually easy to calculate your revs using tape and a video of the ball travelling down lane. I use Hudl Technique as it gives options of frame rate and slow motion etc.

Did you get your hand re-fit before your PSO drilled it up? Wondering if he tweaked any pitches or anything else. I know when I got my fit checked over the summer, I have a better feel with the ball now than before. A better fit can also be a reason for more revs as the ball, if fit correctly, is an extension of your hand and should be very comfortable and almost seem effortless to release it.

Yeah, 400 is a higher estimate and not likely to be 25% higher than it was but it was still surprisingly high for me.
No re-fit, he used the drill sheet from a year ago when I bought my first ball from him.

I 'measured' my revs awhile back using the tape method, which is where I got my 325 estimate in my signature but it was very amateurish...lol. Once I get a few games in with this ball and if my results stay similar to last night then I will re-check to see what it is

Revs were down a little tonight for sure but I wasn't that consistent. I had a few shots with lots of revs but struggled to replicate shots. Had a 227 my first game with 7 strikes but only 2 of those were nice pocket hits. 2 were brooklyns and one was a light hit that carried well. But I really struggled in games 2 and 3 after the oil was gone. I'll start a new thread about that because I have alot of questions related to it

I do find my Radical equipment carries more with less than solid pocket hits which is why I'm a fan of their equipment. If the Conspiracy is anything similar to my Radical Cash, its' going to need a lot of oil or it will burn up. I had to adjust the surface of my cash with a 3000 abralon before I could really use it.

Tonight was kind of opposite. Hit the pocket several times in game 1 with no strikes. Made a minor move inside and it really woke up the Conspiracy. Had a 183 in game 1 with 4 strikes then game 2 and 3 had 196 and 220 with 6 strikes each in those 3 games.
