Another struggle but not really my fault. Lanes were flooded for some reason. No idea why but all teams were talking about it. I warmed up with the Uppercut but it wasn't hooking at all anywhere on the lane. Grabbed my Conspiracy and it wasn't any better. The Uppercut actually seemed to be grabbing better. Ended up targeting the 15 board and standing in the middle and pretty much throwing straight. Early in game 3 I went in the back room and grabbed my old Kingpin (500 grit) and it was much better. Wish I had grabbed that earlier. Spare shooting was pretty bad again though.
Lanes seemed more like something went wrong than it purposely being a sport pattern. If you got outside the 10 board it went straight.

Still struggling but odd night. Lanes seemed a little heavy on the oil to start but quickly found I need to adjust. Used the Uppercut the first 2 games then finished with the Igniter. Left a bunch of 7's tonight which is odd for me (4/5). I typically only leave 2 or 3. I didn't get that many strikes and missed too many spares but still rolled a 576 so that was odd.. I think I had 2 4 baggers so maybe that was why.

At the point I just don't care anymore. Just want to get through each night and get home. We have finished in last all 3 1/3's and more often than not get swept each week. Tonight our whole team sucked. We are at the point where we are beat before we even start. Morale is horrible.

Lane were a little on the dry side tonight but not bad. Started with the Uppercut but if I missed slightly outside and hit the dry it would hook hard. Switched to the Igniter and had same issue. Weakened my release and it was much better. Spare shooting was horrible again until 3rd game. Oh well

Slightly better night. Wanted to really focus on spares tonight and while I did miss some I did get a little better. Strike ball kept coming up a little light most of the night. Made some adjustments and still light no matter what. Switched to the Igniter in 7th frame of game 3 and moved out to 7 board. Threw 5/6 strikes with it.

I know you already know this but you need to work on your spares more. Those 9 and 8 misses are costing you around 15 pins on your average. Not knocking you and you seem to have a good game just the off shots. I was guilty of that too and still occasionally miss a easy spare. I personally need to practice more. Steve

Agreed 100%. Pretty sure it's a mental thing. I modified my release awhile back and seems like that is when I started really struggling with spares. I had some issues before but seems like after that I took a big step backwards. I started coming around the ball more to get more rotation. It really helped my strikes but spares really started suffering. Last 2 weeks I had went back to staying more behind the ball. Last night I tried both. I was doing both with the Uppercut trying to find what would work best but when I switched to the Igniter every one of those shots I stayed behind the ball with my pinky tucked.
I feel that I am not trusting myself and trying to 'guide' the ball on my spares. The 7 pin I usually miss to the inside. the one I missed last night just barely missed inside. The 1-8 that I left was odd for me. I was worried about trying to get the ball to roll straighter as I was concerned that my ball would hook too much and miss the 8. I ended up tugging that shot so bad that it would have been a great 10 pin shot...seriously. It went straight to the 10 pin so that is how far I tugged it. Don't remember what happened on the 2 missed 4 pins but they were back to back. I do know the one missed inside by a few inches. Don't remember the other

It's a mental thing for me too. I have to be confident in what I am doing to do well. You use the t-zone for all your left side spares right? If this is a THS then move right and throw cross lane through the puddle of oil in the middle. I am right handed so use my spare ball for 6,10 or 3,6,10 combos. I also don't hit the ball as hard on those shots. Steve

I only use the T-Zone for the 4 and 7 pins. The 2 and 8 I use my strike ball. I have to say I'm not overly confident in using the strike ball for the 8 pin because of the steeper angle I need to hit and then I'm getting it out pretty far into the dry. For the 8 pin I move 5 boards right and if targeting the 2nd arrow that is a pretty good angle

Well much better night but did struggle in game 1. Would have been a real nice night has I figured it out quicker.
Game 1 started with the Uppercut but was a little erratic with my targeting. If I missed 1 board inside I went Brooklyn. In fact I had 3 strikes in game 1 and 2 were Brooklyns. Game 2 switched to the Igniter and moved out to the 7 board and that was the ticket. Actually went clean in game 3 for my first clean game in a long time and had my first 600 since 2/23 so yeah I was in quite a slump.

Not too bad tonight. Spare shooting definitely better lately. Game 2 sucked but overall it was a good night. Started off with the Igniter on the outside but never found a good line that was consistent. Oddly I ended up with 17 strikes but I was surprised by that. I was bouncing around all night and never had the good line with error room. On a good note this is 2 weeks in a row with a clean game so that is good.

EDIT: just looked at my stats from last night and I had 6 doubles but no turkeys. That just shows how hard strikes were last night

    Game 1: 199 (6 strikes, 4 spares, 1 open)

    Game 2: 167 (5 strikes, 2 spares, 4 opens-1 split)
