I don’t usually post my scores, but with this short summer season I figure I might follow through.

This week Mixed Nuts: 188, 199, 196

For reference Mixed nuts is a non sanctioned, fun league that is actually finishing out the 2019-2020 season. We only have three more weeks. I will be bowling Buddies Summer Doubles with my friend Tom. This league will start next week and run for nine weeks.

Buddies Summer Doubles 6/30/20
Set A: 193, 210
Set B: 166, 162

First set was on lanes 6&5, second was on 2&1. Didn’t have to move once I got lined up the first two games. Had I been making all my easy spares the total would have been about 40 pins higher. Expected a lot more hook on lane one when we moved but was surprised at how much I had to move on lane two compared to the other pair.
As a team we took most of the first set points and we didn’t get swept the second so we should start off in the middle of the pack.

The team we were suppose to bowl against did not bowl. I know their leadoff bowler has said that he is out for the season. His teammates bowled last week but called to say they would not be there today. We did well enough to win all three games.

Buddies Doubles 7/7/20

Set A: 161, 156
Set B: 166, 224

Wrong ball choice the first set, plus lousy spare shooting.

Spares were still off in game three. Took four strikes in the ninth and tenth to reach 166. Everything finally clicked the last game.

This is the problem with bowling in a social league, when your concentration goes on vacation it can take most of a game to get it to come back.

Buddies Doubles 7/14/20

Set A: 191, 135
Set B: 181, 179

Another slightly embarrassing set of scores to post.The first game was one of our better efforts, with both of us making our averages. The other team shot 513 scratch that game. My opponent shot 523 for the two game set. Second set the right side of the lane was squirrelly. didn't help that I was still missing easy spares. At least my partner had three decent games, including a 268.

Mixed Nuts 7/16/20 week 30 of 30

225, 235, 184, 644 series

Played the same team as last because of this being a position round. We needed to not lose by more than 75 pins total or win at least one game to make next week’s roll off against the first half winners. I was a bit worried after we lost the first game by 12. My teammates got it in gear the second game and we won by 48. With the pressure off we lost some of our focus and got beaten by 48.

Only took four games but I finally hit my average tonight. Fortunately my teammate was at least 30 pins over average each game.

Buddies Doubles. 7/28/20

Set 1: 160, 211

Set 2: 138, 183

Despite the low score first game I took all my individual points the first set. As a team we lost both games. Second set was against the vacant team. my partner atoned for his mediocre first set by averaging 247 the second. all in all we shouldn't drop too much in the standings.
