    Default Next tournament soon

So we have a 40/40 doubles tournament coming up in a few weeks. It's a doubles where one member has to be over 40 and one under 40. It will be my first doubles tournament (except for a father/son back around 2002 when me and my son won). Teammate is my regular league teammate. He is a righty, one handed no-thumber. Average is about 185 ish. Mine in 190 currently. Handicap IIRC is 80% based on 220. We shift either 1 or 2 pairs right after each game. 2 rounds of qualifying. We are signed up for the first round at 9:00AM. 2nd round is at 11:00AM and if need be we will bowl that one too. Thinking I may have an advantage being a lefty. Good chance I will have a pretty fresh line every time we shift lanes. At least compared to the righties I think I'd be in a better position. Our house tournaments are usually THS so nothing fancy there. Wish me (us) luck!

Good Luck Boatman! I hope you and your teammate bowl better than I did in this weekend’s NEBA tournament. I had never bowled in East Hartford (Hall of Fame Silver Lanes) before so the approaches seemed a bit slicker than Fairfield’s and I was having a harder time picking out individual boards to target between the arrows. Didn’t start hitting my mark on anything until half way through the first game. Second and third games were better but still nothing to write home about. Everything clicked the fourth game for a 225, and last game was 202. Would have had to average over 225 to have made the cut. One of the guys I was crossing with just missed it.

Thanks. This will be my 4th tournament. 2 were sport patterns and 1 was THS. Never bowled very good at any of them but oddly I made the field in both of the sport shot tournaments but missed the field in the THS tourney I entered.
