    Default local PBA tournament

So saw JR Raymonds recent youtube video of a PBA regional in Canfield, Ohio. Thats only about 45 minutes from me. I would have considered entering it if I had known about it. I wouldn't have had a chance of winning and probably not cashing in but just for the experience. According to their site you only need to be a current USBC member to enter. There were 90 some entrants and a couple that bowl our summer league were on there and a few that I have bowled local tournaments with. Most of those guys qualified around 50th and didn't make the field.

So I went to the PBA site and looked at the regional schedule and no mention of it there and nothing anywhere very close to me. So how would you find out about these tournaments if there is no mention on their site? Unless I just didn't look in the right place.

Pattern was Cheetah. Can't see the chart cause I'm not a member. The lowest qualifier averaged about 145. I have bowled 2 sport shot tournaments (47' Scorpion and 44' 'frankenestein' that they didn't name but it was pretty flooded. I have the sheets for that pattern) and averaged 165 and 155 in them so I wouldn't have been an outlier...lol

Did some more digging and did find it. There is one late summer in Morgantown but doubt I will enter that one. Summer is too busy on weekends for me but maybe after September I'll look to get into one. Anyone know what it costs to enter one? I clicked on the thing to register trying to see entry fees but it wants me to join before proceeding so couldn't see where the fees were.

Up near the top of the page there is a box that reads Div/Fees. Click on that and you will be able to see what the entry fee is. I thought that amateurs were able to enter regional PBA events. The PBA web site used to be friendlier to nonmembers. Now it seems to want you to join the PBA for anything other than the news feed.

The entry fee for the Morgantown, WV tournament is $310 for non-members. Too rich for my blood even just "for the experience". See the "tournament notes" section at this link:

Yikes. Yeah $300 is a little too steep for 'fun' money
