Default Boatmans 2021-2022 fall league scores

First night and a new team. Team was great. Good group of guys. Struggled in warmups and kept tugging the ball. Started with the Uppercut out around 7 board which is usually too much ball for that far out but it was working. I was the only lefty so that helped. Game 2 started getting a little deflection so moved in to the 10 board but struggled with carry after a couple of frames. Switched to the Igniter in game 3 and moved back to the 6-7 board and added some speed. Hadgreat carry. We won games 1 and 3 and total pins.

So after a good week last week we struggled tonight. I couldn't find a good line tonight. Lanes were very tight. I left a bunch of 7's and missed more than I should have. We won 1 game and lost 2 and total pins. We bowled one of the higher average teams.

    Game 1: 191 (4 strikes, 5 spares, 1 open)

Yeah. I see I miss my target at the arrows by 2 or 3 boards alot. My problem is all in the execution. But then again my whole night was rough

Well had a decent might going but struggled in game 3. We lost all 3 games to the first place team. 2 of the first 3 weeks we bowled 2 of the top average teams in the league and next week have another one. So 3 of the top 4 teams in the league we have 3 of the first 4 weeks...lol

Lanes had some oil tonight. Not bad but slightly more than usual. I started with the Uppercut and tried from the 5 to the 10 board. Sweet spot was about the 6-7 board with a little speed. Around the end of game 2 started leaving stone 9's and corner pins so switched to the Igniter but never could quite find the sweet spot with it. FWIW I was high series on our team (which isn't good considering it was only a 607). My timing felt really good tonight. Balance was good and was able to post my shots.

Only two out of four 7 pins made. I would say those still need some work.

Weird season but I guess in a good way. So far this season I have rolled a 619, 549, 607 and 615. The 619 and 607 both felt pretty good but the 549 and the 615 tonight felt like a struggle. So guess I'm happy that a 615 is struggling. The 549 was when the lanes were bone dry.

So tonights theme was corner pins. Not just me. Heard a few other lanes were struggling with them too. I left 7 7 pins tonight. My 'average' is maybe 2-3 a night. I was happy was able to get through it but it took longer than I would have liked. Struggled hard in game 2.

Started the night with a 7 pin in each of the first 3 frames and all were good pocket hits. Was playing the 2nd arrow with my Uppercut. Finally towards the end of game 1 I moved out to the 6 board. Realized my ball had a weak angle into the pocket. Ball was dropping off between the 8 and 9 but my angle was week. Teammate even mentioned it. Switched to the outside and got a steeper angle but still struggled. Switched to the Igniter and slowed my speed way down (like 1.5 MPH slower) and started striking. As that line started going away I added some speed to combat that. Game 3 worked great. Went up against another one of the top teams tonight. Game 1 one of their guys rolled a 279 and the next game another one of them rolled a 280. Lost game 1 by 18, game 2 by 99 and won game 3 by 57.
I did change up my 7 pin stance. I had been standing pretty far right and throwing pretty far left and I felt off and weird trying to reach out that far so I moved my feet and target 5 boards left and felt much more comfortable. Results weren't great but the ones I missed I only missed by an inch. I can make some adjustments and should be much better going forward.

Tough night and surprised I did as well as I did. We were on the end pair (39-40) and 40 was a little drier than 39. I had to make quite a few adjustments tonight. Also, my son stopped down and hung out so I was a little distracted. But we won all 3 games. Tried my 'normal' 2 lines in warm-ups and although my accuracy was good I struggled to hit the pocket consistently. Started with the Uppercut in around 2nd arrow but ball was coming in too hard. Tried adjusting speed but still over-reacting. 2nd game switched to the Igniter and it was overhooking too. Moved out to the 6 board and added some speed and started hitting the pocket pretty good. Towards the end of game 2 it stated overhooking so moved in about 3 boards with my feet and target. Had a little luck there until just past the 5th frame or so of game 3 then moved back to the 6 board and added more speed and struck out then to salvage game 3. I had way too many opens tonight to roll a 600 but ended with a 595 somehow. So happy with being able to adapt and salvage a decent night. If I hadn't seen my scores I'd guess I bowled about a 520-540 so happy about that. I needed a 610 to get my average right at 200 so still have some work to do. Oh, and didn't miss any 7's tonight.
