Funny that your reaction was to grab your gun and cell phone. I would have gone back inside and locked my doors once I saw the police were already in close pursuit.
So getting ready for bed last night about 12:15 or so and heard sirens pretty close by. Not unusual but got up and looked out my window. Holy crap. They were 2 streets over. Ok, maybe a medical situation at a neighbors house. Then thought it was weird when they turned and started to circle back so went out on my deck. Just then I hear an engine roar and a car blasts down the alley right behind my house past my back driveway about 80 MPH. Mind you, 20 MPH in this alley is too fast for my comfort. Not only that but there is an intersection of 2 alleys just past my driveway with no stop signs either way (we have complained cause there have been accidents there). This car flew right through there going the way that is expected to stop. Police came through a few seconds later. I run back in and grab my gun and cell phone (I used to work in law enforcement until about 10 years ago). Stood out on my deck and could still see the police lights but they had stopped moving a couple of blocks from my house. Could see other police cars up on the hill past the first one with their spotlights on so assumed the driver bailed. Stood out there until about 2:00 AM when all the police lights disappeared. No idea what it was all about but based on how that car was driving I feel he was prepared to die last night. 2 hours earlier I was backing into my driveway going right across that alley.

Having worked in law enforcement for 10 years it's just instinct. My main focus for the gun was to protect myself in case one of the guys came around the corner. I never left my deck. If I had seen anyone running through yards I would have called 9-1-1 and been a good witness. Back when I was still on the job I would have taken a different course of action but I have no authority now. But it's not in me to go back inside and lock up. I hate scumbags and would have loved to have been the one to call and point them out to the police. Back when I was a State Constable I would go out and help with these types of incidents. Didn't get paid for it but the satisfaction was all I needed.

So took a ride around the neighborhood this morning. They hit my neighbors fence and went through another neighbors yard. It ended when they turned into a driveway that I presume they thought was a road then bailed on foot. I say that cause the police car spent alot of time sitting at that spot where that driveway is and you can see marks where a car entered into there. Oddly, that house they stopped at was also a victim of a police chase several years ago. A car came down Hazel Ave and went straight across into their driveway and hit their garage. Didn't see any damage this time though.

Now every time I see your name all I can think of is "Bad boys Bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?!"
Now it's stuck in my head!
I guess that's better than the rich guy who can't sing.
You’re just not getting it.
Having a boat does not mean Boatman is rich.
Boatman is not rich because he has a boat. He has to pay to maintain it, insure it, maintain a trailer to transport it, own a gas guzzling pick-up truck to pull the trailer, and last but not least buy fuel for the boat and fuel at the marina is at least 50%more expensive than at your local gas station, more likely 2-3 times as much.
Just think how much more money and time he could spend at the bowling center if he didn’t have a boat.
John
Very true...lol. Fuel at the gas dock was 4.59 last year but we spent most of the summer sitting in our slip because of the broken outdrive. It still ran and worked but it was slipping, like a trans in a car slipping. I think we only put 2 hours of run time on it last year. And insurance is only about $350/year so that isn't bad. But it definitely adds up so that's why I'm broke...lol

Come on John, I'm aware he's not rich. I was PRETENDING he was! I think you took me too seriously which is always a mistake. Boaty being just an average guy with a boat isn't funny. The explanation of all the costs involved... Extremely NOT funny! As a matter of fact, the most completely opposite of funny in every way. No open mic night for you!
So... I had to spruce him up a bit, make him the big wheel. You know, add some excitement to him. Making fun of average people isn't all that funny. Even if he can't sing, most average people can't anyway.
Now that I had to explain it all, it just totally killed the whole poker game! Thanks a lot JOHN! 😜 On the upside... Now Boaty doing his Mel Gibson "Lethal Weapon" impression (probably out there in his boxers) running around with a gun ready to shoot up his neighborhood? Lots of potential for new material there. I now have a whole new way to poke fun at him. I need this because there are only so many ways to mess with someone about bowling.
<Saying in a deep dramatic voice over the cops theme>...
"Boatman... Cracking heads and taking names... this original post was brought to you by the man formerly in laaaaw enforcement."
