Default I'll be out for awhile

Surgery tomorrow morning. Dr. says at least 2 weeks but likely 3-4. Hernia surgery with 10lb restriction for 2 weeks then 25lb the next 2 weeks. But figuring the motion and momentum of an approach and a 15lb ball swinging just think maybe an extra few weeks might be good. Hernia is right in the middle of my belly. Anyone ever have this surgery and how long was your recovery or return to bowling?

Haven't had that - but taking a little extra time is always a good idea. . .

    take care - recoup!

I have had 3 femoral hernia surgeries. Same spot all 3 times. 6 Weeks recovery each time. Use a cane initially to walk. Walk as little as you can the first couple weeks, hopefully you don't have many steps in your house.

Just take it easy, heal up fully. It's easy to rerupture it. DO NOT let them use mesh to repair it unless you want to go through it again! It doesn't hold! Oh yeah, avoid coughing. It hurts! You'll feel like crap for two weeks then you'll feel a lot better quickly after that. Again, even though you feel better doesn't equal healed. Don't over do it. Bowling will still be there when your fixed up

Mine was lower and to the left. The pain let's up fairly quick. At long as you don't cough, sneeze, laugh or blow your nose, basically anything that makes tighten up is going to suck. Just veg out for a few days, sleep and relax.

Someone we bowl with had hernia surgery this season. Recovery time before getting back to bowling was 8 weeks. Just make sure to rest and give it time to fully heal.

Now didn't I say NOT to sneeze?! Take a laxative and I promise you will hold the next sneeze in at all cost.
