Default wet ball but heavy hook

So tonight we were all having trouble with the ball going through the nose. Didn't pay attention to others but my ball was coming back with more oil than I usually ever see, yet it was hooking hard. Causes or reasons?

Looking at your scores that there was a high volume of oil but it was relatively short. After two games there was enough oil carried down from shooting spares or perhaps some oil had soaked into your ball to allow the pattern to play longer. Of course if all those third game strikes were Brooklyn, or do you call them Jersey in your part of PA, I may be completely wrong.

No 3rd game was pocket hits but I moved about 5 boards in with my feet and target to get that. Another issue was I had trouble with the 6, 10 and 6-10 spares. I make my usual move left and the ball gets 3/4 down lane and never hooked. Skidded right past the pins inside. Thinking there was a big pool right there at the end of the pattern?

Sounds like what happened in my house starting a couple weeks ago. House put out a new shot which is your typical house pattern - easier than the older one on paper - heavy inside and dry outside. Heavy enough inside that carry down did become an issue, move seemed to be left, then back right and if you got just outside the oil line, you were coming back in too much. Play a bit more inside and all that heavy inside oil did start to carry down and deposit off the end of the pattern near the break points. Cross alley spares would have been an issue playing through the puddle if you weren't in roll phase before it hit it. Thinking J is right on the nose... ball was flaring through the heavier oil volume and coming back with a lot of rings from that, and then reacting off the end to go through the nose since it could have been shorter.

ugh - the "house" shot that they put down this week for us was slippy on the outside, friction on the inside.

Why are you worried about what you see on your ball. What the ball is doing is the only thing that matters. Get your priorities straight!
