My fall league is a head-to-head match point league. Sadly this upcoming season is seeing a 60% loss in participation, so it may end up being canceled.

Unfortunately, bowlers around here have lost interest in scratch leagues and head-to-head leagues. They want handicap leagues, and they want that handicap to be 100%. We still have a few leagues at 90%, but there is always someone trying to get them to vote on changing to 100%.

No-tap leagues are huge around here and fill up fast.

League participation has fallen off so much that both centers in town have had their traditionally men only leagues change to mixed leagues just to be able to fill teams.

25 years ago there were waiting lists to join leagues. Now centers are struggling to fill teams or even have enough teams to actually run the league. It's really kind of sad to see.

I fully expect at least one of the two centers in town to close in the next 5 years. It's just becoming unsustainable for these centers. Leagues are falling apart, and open bowling is becoming unaffordable for families to do more than 2-3 times per year.
