Well another night of sucking...lol. We went in and saw the other team had 2 pre-bowlers. They did pretty bad. About 70 pins below average each game so their captain told us to take it easy on them tonight...lol. Game 1 we had 681 scratch. Yeah, for 5 of us....lol. I was high man at 155. The other team struggled too. Game 1 we were 180 pins below average. The other team was 100 below average. Game 2 we were 1 pin below our average but they were 1 pin above their average. Game 3 we were 40 over our average and they were 35 below their average. We won game 3 but that was all.
My hunch is my balls are just worn out. The Pi has about 110 games on it and the Xponent has about 90. But I'm still unemployed so have to make the most of them. Brought them home tonight to re-surface them on the spinner. My Altered Reality only has about 50 games on it. Those are the only 3 I have there. Been throwing 9 counts alot and leaving corner pins. Tonight I started with the Xponent but that didn't work in warm-ups. Started game 1 with the Pi and no good. Tried the Altered Reality and still no good. I was throwing up the 7 board. Tried moving in and out a little but still no luck. Tried changing speed, no luck. Near the end of game 2 I left 3 flat 7's in a row with the Xponent. That was the weakest ball I had so I tried moving in. Seemed slightly better but very shallow entry angle. Switched back to the AR and that was the trick. The AR is drilled 50x 3 5/8 x 30 and it hooks in nice at the end of the pattern. Threw it across the 2nd arrow but moved my feet in to get a nice arc. Threw 233 last game. Missed alot of spares tonight, including a bunch of 7's. Part of that was frustration and just not caring at that point.
What I seem to have learned was that I need more entry angle or those 2 balls are deflecting more than I think they are. They seem to be dropping off near the middle of the lane but has to be what is going on?

    Game 1 : 155 (1 strike, 6 spares, 3 opens-3 splits)

    Game 2: 167 (4 strikes, 3 spares, 4 opens-1 split)

    Game 3: 233 (9 strikes, 1 spare, 2 opens-1 split)

Well re-surfaced everything yesterday. Xponent 1000, 2000, 3000, the Pi with 1000, 2000, 3000 then dug out the Helios and hit it with 1000, 2000, then polish. The Helios is a short pin so hoping the polish will delay the hook a little. It only has about 30 games on it cause I never really got a good feel for it. The only difference I made was the last time the Xponent went 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000P but I left the 5000P out this time cause it seems to be having a hard time seeing the friction lately. Will see if any of this helps next week. The Xponent had about 10 games since last re-surface, the Pi had 30 and not sure about the Helios. Might bring the Altered Reality home next week to re-surface it too.

I put a polish on the 15lb Helios I had because it was just no good. It saved me from throwing it into Lake Michigan. Became a much more reliable piece after that.
