900G Ember? Anyone have one?
I bought one about 2 months ago and so far it has been the worst ball I have ever bought. Very unpredictable and inconsistent. It's drilled similar to my others at a 55x4.5x40. So pretty neutral drilling.
I started out with OOB finish and the ball snapped through the nose. My hardest hooking ball I have ever owned. Went down one day to practice and got black marks all over the ball so threw it on my spinner and took it to 4000 with no polish. Ball was still very snappy so took it to 3000. Now it is tamed down quite a bit but no matter where I stand it seems to be erratic. I have not found any room for error with the ball ever. The only time I see any consistency is standing about 25-30 and throwing to the left gutter (lefty here).
I'm about to give up on the ball and take it out of my bag.
Anyone have one and what were/are your thoughts on that ball?

And speaking for myself, I've never thrown the Ember. My only experience with 900 Global was my old Bullet Train and that Special Ops that I won in a raffle.Originally Posted by J Anderson
The Bullet Train was okay...hard to say since I was still learning HOW to bowl when I threw it. But, the Special Ops was absolutely terrible. Lots of people had good things to say about it...but I couldn't get it to work.

I have quite a few 900G balls and really like them but so far I hate this Ember. I can't get it to do the same things twice in a row. But tomorrow is position round and we are in 10th of 11 teams. As long as we win 1 game we cannot drop any spots and we'd likely have to win all 3 and have teams above us play just right to move up so I think my plan is to maybe throw the Altered Reality to start then throw the Ember the rest of the night no matter what happens. We will have at least 4 lefties on our pair tomorrow so that should help me with this ball.

Well tonight I threw the Altered Reality game 1. We needed to win at least one game to assure nobody could catch us from behind. Other team had a guy pre-bowl. He had a 212 average but he rolled 772. Then they brought in one of their subs that has a 244 average. They have another guy with a 227 average so we figured we were screwed. Well our team bowled phenomenal. I rolled 653, a guy on our team with a 193 average rolled 689, my step-son with a 180 average rolled 598, a girl on our team with a 140 average rolled 530. We set the league high handicap series tonight at 3707.
So game 1 rolled the AR. After we won that game we knew we weren't going to be able to move up or down so I committed to the Ember the next 2 games. Before we started I hit it with a 4000 lightly. I had a 3000 on it. Ball rolled nicely into the pocket and rolled 253 and 206 with it so I didn't throw it off the bridge on the way home...lol
