    Default shoes?

I've been rolling in the dexter sst1's for 8yrs...

so my question is, is there a point for me to buy the more expensive sst's that have the changable soles/heels? I'm on the fence as to whether I'll need it...

    thoughts?

MH1313, I have been with the Dexter SST 6's for awhile. I like the ability to change the sole if needed but I find myself hardly ever doing it. I bowl at a couple of different houses around here and quite a few tournaments around. I can't honestly remember the last time I had to change the sole. Probably last year I changed it once and in Reno for nationals during the 40 frame game I changed it. If you happen to step in water or god forbid beer it is nice to be able to rip off the sole and put a new one on, so if you count that I have changed a few times but it has always been to the same "number" I like that feeling of security but other than that if you are good with permanent soles I think you should stay with them.

    WOW ........SST 1's ....WOW

I would say you may want to look to a new pair if their old and run down.

Im a B I G fan of Etonic Shoes because they have a higher arch than Dexter's

yeah I'm still rolling in the same pair.

They are in good shape, but they are slowly starting to wear out. I notice where the leather meets the sole, stiches are beginning to loosen.

The sliding sole still works well, but it does have some signs of wear.

I could probably use a higher arch...what model of Etonics do you wear?

    cheers!

I had the SST6's for a couple years and now am using the SST8's... With the price of around $130 on mostg of the bowling sites you cant really beat the price for the length of time that they are used.. I personally like the interchangable heels and soles since I bowl in so many different houses.. Some have the wood approaches while others have the synthetic... Its always nice to have a consistant slide/plant no matter the conditions.

    Default my shoes

I've had my SST6's for about 5 years now. I cant imagine every buying a better pair of shoes. I've never even switched pads. They feel just as good now as they did when I bought them. The only adjustment I've made is some insoles for comfort. After bowling 2,000+ games in them they are a little flat in the cushion department. But when the time comes, I hope I wil only need to get new pads

iv had dexter (idk the model) for 10 years and both the inside and outside are wearing down (IE: the sliding sole is coming off and the padding inside is ripping off) but the right shoe with all the grip is perfect still

Define cheap? I feel $100 is cheap because thats pretty much the minimum price I pay for the minimum shoe I'm willing to wear.

Do you want shoes with slider soles on both feet or just one?

As far as brands go, I don't think you can go wrong with any really...I've only worn dexters myself, but thats only because its what my team wore in high school when I first started bowling
