New member from Tennessee

Good day, all...

My name's Jim, I'm 47, originally from NW Indiana, living now in Tennessee. I've bowled off and on (mostly "off") all my life but really didn't have a clue what I was doing till quite recently. Now I have a 14 year old son who's very into the sport and I decided it was time to take it seriously. We bowl at least 4-8 games a week, more when possible, and I've raised my average from the 120s into the high 170s...almost respectable! I had my first-ever 200+ game last week and upped it just last night to 234 and missed a 600 series by one pin...196-169-234.

I don't have an "arsenal"...just one ball, an Ebonite Clash, my first-ever fingertip ball. I guess I am a classic right-handed stroker, rolling very slow on or around the 10 board. If I have a weakness it's probably inconsistency, but I guess that's probably everyone's biggest thing. My "style" probably looks awkward, but it seems to be working.

I've been on other forums for other interests (Trackforum for Indy, Rocketry Forum for model rocketry, etc.) so I know a little of "netiquette" and I'll endeavor to be a good citizen here.

my story is very simular but i bet theres alot like us here meaning our kids bringing us back to the best sport ever good scores too

Welcome! I lived in NW Indiana for a while, off and on, then back to Chicago, then to NE Indiana. I got into rockets in NE Indiana because I lived in the sticks. So we have a couple of things in common besides bowling. Glad you're here.
