The International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame will partner with The Bowling Foundation to launch a new capital campaign to raise $1 million from the bowling industry for the IBM/HF.

The hope is to reach the goal by the opening of the IBM/HF's new, state-of-the-art home at the International Bowling Campus in early 2010. The campaign was established to ensure funding and support for relocation of the IBM/HF and to maintain operations.

"We believe members of the bowling industry will help the Museum/Hall reach our goal because they already have donated more than $563,000," said Pat Ciniello, Chairman of IBMHOF Board of Trustees. "Once we reach the $1 million level in our industry, we hope to raise a similar amount around the Arlington area and beyond."

The $563,000 has been secured in the "quiet phase" of the campaign with The Bowling Foundation and IBMHOF now actively seeking bowling donors to match and urgently reach the $1 million mark.

"The Museum and Hall will be a great addition to the sports and entertainment district Arlington has created. In fact, I've noticed the outstanding job Arlington already has done to promote the Museum and Hall of Fame," said Cathy DeSocio, Chair of The Bowling Foundation and Cap Campaign Committee. "There are signs on the roads leading to the sports and entertainment district saying we're coming soon. This will go a long way in helping us build awareness of what's to come in 2010."

Contributions will help secure bowling's history and future. Tax-deductible donations can be made easily and securely online at bowlingfoundation.org or mailed to: 621 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, Texas 76011. A variety of contribution levels are available, including different recognition for individuals, companies and associations.
