Is that swelling or a callus? My thumb looked just like that back in high school...when I bowled 20+ games a week.

    well from the fitting page:
    --------------------------------
Round Hole Drilled - should be Oval
    Hole Too Tight
    Excessive Left Pitch
    --------------------------------
I'll take a guess it's the pitch, since you say the tape keeps peeling up from the friction.

The fact that it is only on one side tends too lead to a pitch issue. It can also be early turn in release nut that tends to affect both sides of the thumb. Do you use a slug or insert? If not another posabitity is the different densaties of the materials in the thumbhole irritating that side of the thumb. However i would definatly have the pro shop check the fit/pitch
Still love the game but had to quit because of my left leg amptation

lateral thumb pitch is wrong and/or you need an oval thumb hole maybe both
make sure you are using a thumb slug.

What did you come up with? It almost looks like fluid on the joint, and that shouldn't happen. I don't have a swelling problem, my thumb keeps shrinking as the night progresses. After using the changeable thumb at the Storm Open House I think I'd like to get it for myself. Initial investment is 50 beans, though. I can get quite a few boxes of good cheap wine for 50 bucks.

the pro shop guy, who also bowls a lot, showed me his thumb and it looked similar to mine, he said big thumbs come with the sport(or something like that, cant remember exact quote), along with bigger arms and such(my right arm is also noticably more muscular than my left, and my right middle and ring fingers are also bigger than my left ones)

I had a big issue with my thumb swelling all the time. I stated to use TG smooth black tape to wrap my thumb and it's been great ever since.
