    Default POING! went the hip...

...very first shot of the very first game last Saturday. YEEEOUCH. Not really painful, but enough to let me know I'd done something. Like a moron I kept going--I have a new ball (White Dot, my first "strictly spares" ball) and really, really wanted to use it--and four games later I waddled off the lane like I had lumbago. Which, strictly speaking, I did...anyway, it has been almost a week now and while it is better, it still feels like there's something wedged just above my pelvis on the right side. I am inclined to try bowling a game or two tomorrow anyway.

I am inclined to think I was trying to heave the ball down the lane rather than roll it, and that's what happened, and then continually aggravated it as I continued to play. I don't think of back/hip problems as an issue with bowlers, more arm/shoulder issues, but I'm not a doctor, certainly. Anyone else have something similar happen to them, and how long did you let yourself recover?

I have a damaged tendon in my wrist from bowling, was advised to stop bowling for a few months, but didint listen, bought myself a storm adjustable wrist device and carried on bowling, regretting it now as its starting to hurt more and more and not settle down for at least a few days...
