    Default Hi everybody!

Hi folks, I’m a newbie here.

I’ve been bowling for many years and I know most of the terminology associated with bowling, but I can’t remember how many “boards” there are on a bowling alley and how they’re numbered. To my recollection, I think there’s 39 boards and they’re numbered from each channel 1 through 20, 20 being the center board and center arrow. Somebody let me know if I’m wrong or correct. I also forget how long the alleys are. Seems to me they’re somewhere around 60 feet or so?

Welcome aboard it's good to have you with us. As far as the numbers go you are right. A righty would count 1-40 from right to left and a lefty would count 1-40 from left to right. And I'm not sure about the 60 ft., if it's foul line to pin deck or foul line to the end of the pin deck, but I'm sure some one on here will answer the question for us. Good luck and good Bowling.

Thanks Bill, I was working from memory on the boards and their numbering, but I’m not sure I ever knew the exact length of the lanes or where the measurements are taken from and to.
