    Default bowling journal

does anybody use a bowling journal as they are bowling? i was thinking of making one up to use at my league bowlings and at practice. it would include something like:setup, timing, release, follow through , mark standing on,mark hit and attitude and then i would use a marking system every time i throw the ball or after the frame. this would give me something to work on when i practice or get up for the next ball to focus on. just a thought in my head. what do you do or think of my idea or is it too much to contend with while bowling?

I've done it some, during practice it's no problem. During league it takes some focus to keep at it.

Here's a link to a score sheet that will help get you started.

If you want to get real fancy, get the Frames software like walter ray uses with a pda.

Bowling journals can be a big help. They can help track true spare conversion percentages (versus guesses) and other statistics that can help identify trouble spots in our game. Over time, they'll reveal trends in which equipment works best in which house and on which types of surfaces. They've been a big help with remembering bowling centers that are only visited once or twice per year for big-money tournaments.

For me, the biggest benefit is identifying areas for improvement to help properly structure practice sessions.
