Default What bowling ball to get?a little confused

I hope there is someone that can help me with this question. I recently started bowling again. I'm 21 and it's been 8 years since I've picked up a bowling. I have been on the internet looking at the Storm Reign and ROF bowling ball and the Lane 1 Red Death and Blue Death. looking for 1-2 good balls for the different oil conditions. If i had to compare my bowling technique it would be that of Chris Barnes. thanks for the help.

Storm reign and reign of fire, both great balls, i have a invasion and a reign, they are also a good heavy oil ball and pearl ball, good luck, the reign has alot of mistake room, so theres my advise

Reign Of Fire and Reign should be a good 1-2 punch. For average revs and speed, that combo should help you handle most conditions except the heaviest and drier ones. If you bowl with more revs, maybe a Nomad and Dark Star would be a better option depending on conditions you bowl on.

Depending on your speed/rev rate I would agree with everything that's been said. Any combination of Invasion, ROF, Riot, Nomad (Heavy Oil) and Reign, Nomad Pearl, Hy-Road, Dark Star (For Lighter conditions) could work!

thanks for the information. I had been leaning towards the Reign and the ROF. Just Moved From Bremerton,WA were the lane were pretty dry to medium oil. now down here in San Diego for Military orders and there lanes it seems they take better care of. but would you happen to know any information about the Lane 1 blue and red death.

Thanks you all for your responses it made my choice much easier. I went with the Invasion and reign. seemed to best match up with the way I bowl. I though picking out pool cues was hard good grief LOL. Once again thanks and have a great day.

Things haven't changed much in the last 8 years. Cover stocks are more porous and there seems to be a recent trend towards symmetric cores with a stronger bias, but in many regards the more things change the more they stay they same. Consider the current "Raw" line from Hammer and compare the cores to the old Diesel line from 7-8 years ago. There's not much difference. There's stuff from the last 90's that still out hooks stuff made today and vice versa.

Your choice is solid and narrowing it down to a couple of balls designed for opposite ends of the spectrum will probably cover 80% or more of the lane conditions you'll face.

    Good bowling on ya!
